Top String Tuesday: Iroquois Top String

This week I will walk you through my approach to stringing an Iroquois top string. Like the Huron top string, the Iroquois top string features what I call a “dropped top string”.

Bowhunter Cup Rosters: US and Iroquois

2014 Bowhunter Cup Canceled

The Iroquois are 2-1 agains the US in Bowhunter Cup games, and 3-0 against the US at the WILC. The Iroquois won last year’s Bowhunter Cup 12-10. The Nationals are sending out a relatively seasoned group of players, and they will have plenty of offensive fire power. The US is sending out a younger team, with good box pedigrees.

Syracuse Vs. Iroquois Lacrosse Highlights

Syracuse took on the Iroquois Nationals this weekend in Cortland, NY, and won the unofficial game 14-11. Hakeem Lecky had five goals, and both teams showed moments of true excellence. It was a great showcase of high scoring, fun lacrosse, and the fans in attendance were treated to a great game.

Iroquois Could Re-Join FIL Blue Division

Early reports indicate that the vote went the Iroquois’ way, even with the phrasing of the issue, and that Bylaw 11.1, which says future group placements are dictated by the last World Games final standings, was thrown out.

Iroquois Appeal FIL Decision for Blue Division Exclusion

The Iroquois Lacrosse program has appealed the FIL’s decision to drop the Iroquois Nationals from the top (Blue) division at the 2014 World Games in Denver for a second time. The original appeal was voted down by the Board of Directors, and they cited “following by-laws” as their rationale.

Kanatiio “Tiio” Adams, a budding Iroquois Lacrosse star from the Akwesasne Reservation has passed away. Tiio was a Senior at the Salisbury School in CT and headed to Cornell next year to join his older brother, Myan.
