Stick Trick Saturday: Back Stop

Editor’s note: Welcome back to Stick Trick Saturday thanks to the unyielding support of Wolf Athletics, one of the most innovative lacrosse companies to join our stable of LAS Partners. LAS Insiders save BIG on the Ghost shaft from Wolf. We hope you enjoy!

Wiggity welcome back to Stick Trick Saturday, sorry to tease all of you East Coasters living in Hoth ( a Star Wars reference, sorry) with my beautiful Boise weather. Honestly, this Midwestern kid is really starting to miss the “white death” you all refer to.

Anyway, I’m busting out another fan submitted trick, this time from loyal trickster Eric Huben! The Back Stop is a lot like combing the Backspin with the Chest Bump!

The goal is to toss the ball up and watch it for a moment before reacting. Once you know where the ball will drop, bend over and align your shoulder blades under the ball. As the ball drops, softly bring your body down with it for a smooth landing. If you just let the ball drop it won’t be comfortable, I promise!

Pin that ball between your shoulder blades or let it come to a rest on the base of your neck, then just pop it back to yourself. I ran out of time on this week’s episode, so I never finish in a stall, but I urge you to try to master a stall to end the Back Stop!

Last week’s trick, the Danger Zone, was originally sent in to us from Kaleb Manes! Check out the fan submission video for the Danger Zone, these guys went off!

  • Cam Shelley
  • Elijah Owen
  • Chance Harding
  • Kaleb Manes
  • Mark Kelm
  • Eric Huben
  • Cooper Bennett

Thanks again to everyone who submitted their version of the Danger Zone, I hope you didn’t have to learn where the trick got its name!

Now it’s time to get yourself on video completing the Back Stop and send it in to to get hooked you up with a very special Tomahawk Shades prize pack.

Enjoy this week’s episode? Spread the word! Sharing your enthusiasm for our sport is a great way to help grow the game!
