Thing is, the season is just getting started. The fireworks haven’t even begun. Calling it now – 2014 will be a year to remember for the lacrosse enthusiast in us all.

First off, if you haven’t studied the NCAA men’s lacrosse top 25 rankings yet, now’s a good time. The links below to the USILA rankings should help get you up to speed. The USILA rankings are the most accurate in college lacrosse, in my opinion. The various media polls out there are half baked, so the results are inconclusive at best.

Second, let’s point a big fat finger at STX. The growing team over there has been making serious noise lately, so we might as well pay a little respect. It’s also nice to see a brand help bridge the gap between two professional leagues. (LAS)

Congratulations go out to Tom Campolettano, head women’s lacrosse coach at Molloy College, for being inducted into the Long Island Metropolitan Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Westminster College snagged its first win as an MCLA Division I program in the RMLC, beating Utah State 19-6. Westminster previously competed as a MCLA Division II program and had been pushing hard to go NCAA Division II since the program’s inception. (Deseret News)
Georgetown’s Jeff Fountain scored the game winner in OT against Navy for the second year in a row this weekend. This time, however, it was a bit controversial! (Washington Post)

Michigan men’s lacrosse clobbered Mercer 20-7 with fifteen Wolverines scoring at least one point. Nice to see the UM program starting to click! (Michigan Daily)
After only winning 1 of 4 one-goal games in 2013, the #5 Salisbury Sea Gulls are glad to be 1-0 in that department so far this year. Salisbury recently beat #11 Lynchburg 12-11 in OT. (Baltimore Sun)
