There are some great college lacrosse games being played today and tonight, so if you’re in the area and available, I’d recommend checking these out. Where webcasts are available, I’ll try to link to them. If you of a webcast I’m not including, please let everyone know in the comments section!
Now let’s get to the great games for the day…
Drexel plays at Penn State tonight at 7pm. PSU is ranked 14th in the country and Drexel is 19th, with a 7-7 record. The Dragons might just be the best .500 team in the country this year. With a big win, Penn State might still be able to make the NCAAs even if they lose to UMass in the CAA Finals. Of course they only lost to UMass 9-8 in OT the last time the two teams met so anything is possible! I like Penn State to eek out a win at home over a tough Drexel squad.

UMass plays Towson at home at 7pm and I like the Minutemen by 5+ goals. UMass has played their fair share of close games this year, but I don’t think this will be one of them. ZOOMass on a Wednesday? I’ll take the Minutemen big.
This is a game you can watch via webcast. UMass Athletics gets the HUZZAH! of the day for putting this game online, even if you have to sign up for it through CBSSports.com. Free lax online? Sure thing.
Hartford squeaked by Vermont in OT and now they head to Stony Brook, where they will face another tough test. My money is on the Hawks though… I just like their fight. Should be a good game either way. Same deal as UMass for the live video feed of the Hartford – Stony Brook game.
Albany at UMBC could be a good game, and I’d love to see Albany hang tough, but I just don’t think they are there yet. They are at least a season away still as they lack depth, face off wins and team chemistry. UMBC by 3. This game will be webcast by UMBC.
In D2, Seton Hill heads to Lake Erie and plays at 6pm, and I’ll take Seton Hill by 2-3 goals even though they are on the road. Seton Hill has gotten it done in a lot of tight games this year and is winning consistently. I like that to continue. Lake Erie will provide Live Stats.
In D3 ball, Nazareth plays at Ithaca and that will be a spirited game… it always is! Ithaca is 11-5 and Nazareth is 8-8, but this could be one of the even match ups in all of D3 right now. Heck, according to the “all knowing” Laxpower, Ithaca is #37 in D3 while Naz is #38. Like I said, it should be a good one, plus it’s a playoff game! Ithaca by 1 due to Home Field Advantage and the Bomber fans. Ithaca has live stats and audioavailable for this 4pm game.
St. John Fisher at Stevens is a HUGE game for Pool C reasons. BOTH of these teams want a big win right now to shore up their NCAA hopes. I like Stevens to get it by 4 goals in a barn burner, 16-12.
The only MCLA game on the day is Central Connecticut State at Coast Guard. Coast Guard is a top 20 team, and CCSU is not. It’s a league game and a must win for USCGA. I like the Bears by at least 6 goals.
In the NJCAA, Mercyhurst NE at Monroe could be good as MNE is looking up, and Monroe is beatable. In the end, Monroe will win out though, probably by 5+ goals. Tompkins Cortland plays Onondagain the Region 3 Quaterfinal, but there won’t be any surprises there. OCC huge.
Got a BIG Wednesday game I missed? Let me know in the comments!
