Traditional Thursday: Traditional For Face Offs?
I got to know Julian Maliszewski at this year’s Ales Hrebesky Memorial, and I asked this dominant face off man why he used a traditional pocket. We got to talking, and I wasn’t shocked to find out that Julian knew a lot about the art of leather and string, so I sent him some questions about his pocket, and face off guys using traditional, and Julian crushed out some awesome answers. The NLL Playoffs: Upset City
Both of the top seeds went on the road and lost last weekend in NLL action. Edmonton went to Calgary and dropped a tough 12-11 decision to the Roughnecks. Rochester made the short trip on the Thruway to Buffalo and dropped a 12-8 game to a surging Buffalo Bandits.

Onondaga Wins 6th Straight NJCAA Lacrosse Title
The Onondaga Community College men’s lacrosse team just won their sixth straight national junior college championship. The Lazers knocked off Nassau Community College 12-7 to take the title, but the game was a lot closer than the 5-goal final margin might indicate. This was OCC’s 87th straight win, and they have now won an absurd 8 of the last 9 national titles. Talk about a dynasty!

Upset Of The Weekend: Albany Knocks Off Loyola
Loyola was the heavy favorite heading in, but that mattered little as Albany started out hot, played composed lacrosse for 60 minutes, and got a superb effort from their defense and goalie, Blaze Riorden. The Danes beat the Hounds 13-6 on the road, and move on to the next round of the NCAA tourney, looking like the hottest team in the country.
