In a press release issued by the NOCSAE, the committee warns the lacrosse community to use caution when purchasing lacrosse balls online, stating that there are many counterfeit lacrosse balls on several different vendors websites. These fake balls may have the correct marking, but are in fact, fake. Be sure you are purchasing the real deal by checking the vendor on the Safety Equipment Institute website.
“Without proper testing and certification to the NOCSAE standard, these counterfeit lacrosse balls could pose safety risks for players,” said NOCSAE Executive Director Mike Oliver.
In other words, fake balls are dangerous!
