We are out in Denver, CO for the World Lacrosse Championships, and while we’re extremely busy getting Thailand ready for their first ever WLC appearance, we’re also all over the place, checking in with teams, watching practices, and scoping out all the fresh new gear.

Welcome to Throwback Thursday! In honor of the FIL World Championships kicking off on July 10th in Denver, CO we dug up a little video from the 2010 World Championships in Manchester, England, featuring the USA and Canada. Both teams read like a who’s who of lacrosse, and the goals scored were insane. There’s just no other way to score on defenses and goalies that good!

Canada Trims World Championship Roster to 24

The Canadian Lacrosse Association on Tuesday announced the 24 players selected to the Canadian National Men’s Field Lacrosse Team. Team Canada will compete at the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships on July 10-19, 2014 in Denver.

CUFLA Champions: Guelph Documentary

The Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) is a really interesting collegiate lacrosse league! It’s not like NCAA lacrosse, in that is is club, but is also the best college field ball being played North of the Border. Jack Hallett, a student at Guelph, followed around the team for the year, and documented the entire season. Now he has put together a 40 minute documentary, and it’s stellar!

Throwback Thursday: USA – Canada 1990 Video

The lacrosse world championships traveled down under to Perth, Australia in 1990 but playing in the Southern Hemisphere didn’t do much to change the pecking order for national teams. Canada and the US obviously matched up for a great game and the video picks up the play with the US up 5-2 early in the second quarter.

USA Vs. Canada: College Edition

The University of Vermont invited Bishop’s University down from Canada for a fall ball game that took place on UVM’s homecoming weekend. Bishop’s is located in Lennoxville, Quebec, and is a member of CUFLA (the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association). It is about 2 and a half hours from Lennoxville to Burlington, VT.

Two-Handed Canadians? Oh No!

I’m not saying that Canadian players are always one-handed players, but more often than not they have a true strong hand, and a weaker hand. With Brent Noseworthy, that might be true as well, but I’m having a hard time telling which one is which! Is he a lefty or a righty? Honestly, I can’t really tell.

Canadian Masters Box Lacrosse Invitational

Starting on Friday, July 19th, Masters box lacrosse teams from Canada descended on the Kahnawà:ke Sports Complex for the Canadian Masters Lacrosse Invitational. KTV spoke with organizer, Al “Arbour” Diabo about bringing the tourney to Kahnawà:ke.
