Welcome to an English Stringing Explosion for your Traditional Thursday! I met a Welsh player in Denver this summer, and he had a perfectly strung Rock-It Pocket in his neon green STX head… except it wasn’t strung by Rock-It Pocket… it was strung by Chris Wilson, an English traditional stringing expert from Manchester.

In a hard-hitting, physical match-up between England and Israel, the England men’s national lacrosse team came out victorious in overtime 10-9.
As Captain of the Men’s Lacrosse Team at Oxford I receive emails nearly every week from people who have at some point been involved in the Club. Recently I was contacted by Peter Higgins, who had been the Club Treasurer from 1952-1953, and I asked to meet him in person to talk about the game then and his experiences with lacrosse.
Since the fall ball season is wrapping up, I figured it would be a good time to reach out to see how the boys at Brown University are doing. Brown hosted some pretty unique scrimmages this fall, let’s see what’s going on with the Bears.
Brown hosted both the Sankofa Lacrosse Alliance “Ambassadors” team, as well as a team of English National squad hopefuls for three one hour scrimmages. See the excellent photos below from Greg, and expect much more on this interesting event early next week.
Did you miss The Lacrosse Show last night? It was a REALLY good one! We had Carlo Sunseri on as a guest so we obviously spent a good amount of time talking video games! We also hit up the NLL and PLPA collective bargaining agreement, England’s tour of the US, different approaches to fall ball, as well as Maverik’s potential rise (and the Pride of Westchester).
Harvard hosted England Lacrosse last night in an exhibition scrimmage, and already has video highlights up. They also played against St. John’s and Army this past weekend, and there is a quick highlight video from that day as well.
Follow Team England through the lens of English Filmmaker Guy Ellis as they travel the Northeast playing some of the nations best college teams! The English took on Dartmouth earlier this week, played UMass (above), take on Harvard tonight (7pm ET game is on gocrimson.com), and then play Brown and The Ambassadors on Friday in Rhode Island.
The final stages of the English National Team selection process for Denver 2014 is nearing completion. To truly test the squad, and see who will make the final cuts, the team has come to the States to take on some top-notch collegiate, and club, competition.
Chazz Woodson, and a group of trusted friends, have been working on the Sankofa Lacrosse Alliance for some time now, and their first event is just around the corner. On October 25th, the SLA’s elite team of black lacrosse players, The Ambassadors, will take on Brown and the English National Team in a scrimmage in Providence, Rhode Island, and we’ll be there! We wanted to sit down with Chazz to learn more about this game, but also the Sankofa Lacrosse Alliance!
We offer a great service to get kids a chance to continue to play lacrosse in a new setting, help grow the sport in a place that is lax crazy, and all the while, it sets up a launching pad for European travel, and plenty of adventure.
