Last year was a very exciting year in Division 3 men’s lacrosse, with Stevenson winning their first ever championship. Aurora College in Colorado made their first NCAA tournament, and won a game. RIT beat Cortland with a hidden ball trick, and Salisbury was finally dethroned as the most dominant team in the South, if only for a season. As fall ball and training continues to roll, here’s a look at some of the top teams from last year, as well as a couple potential dark horses for 2014.

Tucker Durkin’s high school highlight tape quickly became a thing of legend (at least in my mind) because of the sheer ferocity on display. Durkin thinks man first, and makes the opposition pay time and time again. If you haven’t seen it, it’s truly worth a watch or ten. He just knocks over everybody out there.

Yesterday’s games were insanely good. Cornell and Duke delivered with what seemed like three games and an epic shootout finish, while Syracuse and Denver kept things slower, and the scoring was a good deal lower.
As you may know by now, we are dedicating our May Reader Polls to the College Lacrosse Champions. This week, we are voting on the NCAA D3 Champion. It’s Tourney time! May Madness is here… and Connor Wilson is excited! The Division III NCAA Tournament features 26 of the best D3 lax teams in the country and it makes for a long, tough road to the Championship. It’s the best time of the year!
By the 2013 college lacrosse season, Stevenson will have left the CAC, and entered the MAC. This is HUGE DIII news and not just for the teams in the MAC, CAC and down South. This will effect Northern teams as well… but most likely, in a positive way!
