“Lacrosse Makes Friends”
As a professional lacrosse player and coach, I’ve realized immense benefits from the game of lacrosse, it has opened academic doors, and even enabled me to travel the world, literally. But through my latest adventure running camps in Tokyo, Japan and now Melbourne, Australia, I’m reminded of lacrosse’s strongest gift – friendship.

The FIL 2014 World Lacrosse Championships are only a Spring season away, and we’re all extremely excited. National teams around the world are preparing to make the trip to Colorado for two weeks (or more in some cases) in July, and that means a lot of training camps, scrimmages, and quite a bit of fundraising!

Denver 2014 Video Explosion
I don’t know about you, but I am beyond excited for the FIL World Championships this Summer in Denver. 38 teams from around the world will descend on Colorado for two weeks of lacrosse action, and by the end of the third week in July we’ll have a new World Champ! Will it be the US? Canada? Will the Iroquois surpass everyone? Whatever happens, it’s going to be superb.
Throwback Thursday: USA – Canada 1990 Video
The lacrosse world championships traveled down under to Perth, Australia in 1990 but playing in the Southern Hemisphere didn’t do much to change the pecking order for national teams. Canada and the US obviously matched up for a great game and the video picks up the play with the US up 5-2 early in the second quarter.
Australia Lacrosse: Thomas Graham – Drive
Thomas Graham is a short stick player for the Bayswater Lacrosse Club, located outside of Perth, Western Australia. Graham is also a member of the 2014 Australian National Team, and will be representing his country in Denver this Summer.
2010 Video: International Hidden Ball Trick
If you believe the announcers on the video, this is the first time the hidden ball trick has ever been successfully pulled off at the World Championships. I can’t imagine that is actually true, as Canada has been playing in that thing forever, but that’s not the point.

Remembering Liam Davies: The Fight For Justice
Wembley Lacrosse Club, located in Perth, Australia, held a memorial day for Liam Davies at their club on Saturday, the 25th May. Liam was a 19 year old Wembley player whose life was taken tragically in January whilst holidaying in Indonesia with some of his teammates.
