LASNAI: Team No. 11 Announced!

The LASNAI is rolling closer, and that means we’re getting down to the last teams announced for this year’s event. While these teams may be getting announced later than some others, they are VERY good teams, and the next one we’re talking about is the…

Caughnawaga Indians!

Caughnawaga has played in the Three Nations league as well as the Quebec Senior Lacrosse League, in recent years. Familiar last names like Cree, Goodleaf, Jacobs, and Lazore dot their roster, and while their 2016 QSLL season didn’t end up with a ton of wins, the team had some close games, and played really well at times, especially in their last game of the year, where they beat Vermont 15-10.

This group is excited to get back together this fall to play in the LASNAI, and is looking to make improvements before next summer’s season. That’s what it’s all about: playing, improving, competing, and enjoying the game!

We are really pumped to have a team from Caughnawaga playing in our tourney. It’s an historic lacrosse hotbed (we’re talking hundreds of years here!) and is STILL a location where talent comes in buckets. There are a ton of teams and programs in the area, so this group will be tested and hungry. We can’t wait to see them on the floor!

See below for more info on our other 10 teams (with more to come!):

  1. LCC Radotín – Czech Republic national champions
  2. Vermont Voyageurs – the best Sr B team in the US
  3. Nova Scotia Privateers – representing the Eastern Canadian provinces
  4. GoldStar Tel Aviv – Israel’s best
  5. Brooklyn Dodgers – 2x defending NYC champions
  6. Onondaga Redhawks – the “home” team, Can-AM champions
  7. Team Jamaica – yes, you read that correctly!
  8. Uncommon Fit LaserSharks – Americans with experience
  9. LaxAllStars.com House Team – Old friends and new
  10. Thompson Brothers Lacrosse – Thompson Bros, pros, and friends

We have a couple more teams to announce, and by early next week we’ll post a general schedule. Game times will start around 11am on Thursday and Friday, and 9am on Saturday, and should end around 11pm each day. After all the teams have been announced we will do a “Live Draw”, where we place the teams into the schedule, and lay it all out on the line!

Along with the general schedule we will also post the rules, sponsor info, and so much more. We’re less than two weeks away, and it’s only getting better from here!

In the meantime, check out LaxChat, our new sponsor! It’s a fantastic new social media app, just for lacrosse, built by a lacrosse guy. We’ll be sharing LASNAI content on LaxChat all tourney long, and leading up to the event, so sign up today!
